    Hello all,

I have a problem with an Audi A4 2003 model.

For no apparent reason whether the car is driving or if it's sitting locked in the driveway the hazard lights come on erratically.

I've done my research and a few people with similar issues said it may be related to either the hazard switch in the centre of the dash or the Comfort Control Module under the passenger floor.

I sourced a second-hand hazard switch and swapped out the original.
Still had hazards coming on randomly.

I then lifted the passenger carpet & there was no signs of any moisture.
I opened the CCU module & again no signs of moisture so I don't think this is the issue.

The radio was not working on the car so I pulled the unit & found a blown fuse (7.5 amp) in the stereo. I've replaced this and it's now working again.
Maybe this is related to the issues I'm seeing but replacing the fuse still did not sort out the problem.

If anyone has any ideas or has had a similar problem I'd love to hear how you sorted it.

Currently the car is sitting up with the battery disconnected.
I'm in no major rush to get this sorted as I don't use the car much but I really want to get to the bottom of the issue.

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

    can you scan for codes?

are you sure its not the alarm being triggered as hazards would usually flash on this scenario.

Maybe the siren is disconnected/not working

I haven't been able to scan the codes yet unfortunately.

It's not the alarm as I've tested this and the siren goes off.

    Thanks for the response.

    Where is this unit located?

Is it near the fuse box?

It's in the picture, no?? unit 13, J519.

It says behind the drivers storage department.

Ild start by sticking my head up under the steering wheel, i suspect without looking that it is above the pedels..

I have the same problem. Convenience module is absolutely dry. I have checked the J519 with bba-reman and is perfect. My car is also 03 reg and 1,9 tdi. Also, the car is sitting on the drive way for last two months. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Note, I have changed the hazard switch and there is no difference.

The only place left to check is between the switch and the module, unless there is an external trigger setting this off (I.E. alarm type trigger).

I think I heard on here before although cant remember where, that there was a faulty batch of hazard switches floating around.. maybe somebody else can confirm this...
