    Hi,

I was driving home from holiday yesterday and after sitting in traffic for a while I had a problem picking up speed. I accelerated through the gears and when i went from second to third it would get to about 2000 to 2500 rpm and then there would be no drive to the wheels even though the engine would still rev, it was almost as if something was slipping.
I eventually cured the problem by turning the engine off and restarting.
This is a bit of a worry as I don't want a lack of speed when overtaking etc.

Can anyone shed any light on the matter?

    Cheers

it could be a fuel problem, what i mean is that your engine can run and rev with a small amount, but if there is only a small amount of fuel getting into the cylinders there will no power. when you turn the engine off it could reset your fuel system, just a suggestion

May be worth popping it into a reptuable garage to do a Fault Code scan on it. That'll bring up a list of errors if any, which could identify the problem.
