I've noticed a very, very slight oil leakage at the head gasket by cylinders 3 & 4. It always reappears after a run. Since this could mean taking the head off at some point I would be obliged if someone could enlighten me about the following.

    1. Are there any known pitfalls to be wary of ?
    2. What is the correct torque value to tighten the bolts to ?
    3. Should I use new head bolts ?
    4. Is a new cambelt tensioner recommended ?
    5. Why is a " pencil magnet " a recommended tool for the head refitting procedure ?

    Regards Dos.

hi mate the torque settings are as follows
    stage 1, 40nm
    stage 2, 60nm
    stage 3, +180 degrees

    use new bolts

if the head comes off and the belt hasnt been changed for a while it is strongly recomended to replace the belt and tensioner

a pencil magnet is very useful if you have stripped the head, it makes refitting the valve collets easier (they hold the valve spring in place, if you need any more info post up here or pm me
