    Ok guys, here's the thing.
I've been checking the B6 stance and picture thread and noted we have nothing similar here as far as I can see...why not

I'm thinking its about time to get some pics posted up, which should prove useful for anyone looking to buy either rims, tyres or lowering kits. Even if you have a completely standard stance ( as I do - although I do hope to change that ) post it up, maybe tell us about the various tyres you've tried, which you'd recommend and those you wouldn't!
Or just post up a pic of your C6 that you'd really love to share!

As you can see, pretty much standard SE setup on 17's although I've changed to the TT Trapezoid alloys which I love.
I'm not crazy about the wheel arch gap and have considered for some time changing it.
To that end I've bought a set of 255x35x19's on RS4 style alloys to replace the 225x50x17's currently on the car. According to a tyre calculator used recently the rolling circumference will be almost exactly the same to within 0.66%. I'm hopeing they wil be ok as regards clearance / rubbing etc and am considering a set of lowering springs to reduce it to Sline setup or thereabouts

Anyway, some of you guys have great looking cars, stock or not, so please pst em up and lets see what you've done, or would like to do

Hey Chris and thanks for the pics
I like your stance much better than mine I have to say, although I think with pics taken a little lower it would really show her off to her best potential
Those look to be the very same rims and tyre sizes I'm looking at, so I'll probably need to do sumthin with my springs!

As for the bootlid spoiler? I asked Audi and they quoted around £350 to supply, prime and paint and then fit....Hmm, too much thinks me
I checked Ebay and found one of these there, rom a Taiwan supplier of course....supplied painted to match whatever colour you specify ( they have the paint codes for Audi ) and shipped to my door for under £50 so I thought I'd take a chance......PERFECT match and came already loaded with 3M tape as used to fit various items by the OEM anyway. Took me about 20 mins taking my time to ensure a good fit ....sorted

Not really for here, but, I had my car detailed today and de swirled.....looks top notch and well chuffed. If the guys supply pics and do a brief write up I'll post it up!

Thanks Jim, I really need some 'professional' looking photos taken. Yeah theyre on the tyres youre getting (255/35/19). However I desperately need my rims refurbished because of the wife not taking care when parking

    I have this:

Which shows how low the car is on S-Line suspension and the rim/tyre choice.

I really like the look of the spoiler but im pretty sure I read somewhere that it couldnt be fitted to S-Line models for some reason. However I'll be having a look on eBay and seeing what I can find.

Hope your car looks well and get some pics up when you have it back!

    Chris

Hey Chris, thanks for the other pic, really shows the lines well
My mouths watering at the thought....lol

As for your rims mate....why not do them yourself? I posted a thread on how to repair alloys cheaply or similar.....I outlines the correct products "Wurth" paint as used by Audi / BMW / VAG, I have the contacts and paint code for them and the process is very very simple.....time consuming yet very satisfying. Professional refurb will set you back around £240 or thereabouts, you could do this yourself for around £50 ish
If you have any questions or I can help in any other way, please just ask
    All the best

    Jim

I'm in the same boat as Chris - three of my wheels have scrapes on the rim. Her excuse is always "it's a lot longer than a TT!" Jim, I'm not as brave (or patient or talented) as you, so will probably end up getting a local company to fix the wheels.

Jim, I just looked more closely at your pics above. Is that a 3.0TDi badge (and a quattro badge) lurking on your bootlid?

Hey MF - Seriously, all kidding aside, I'm not the best at automotive DIY but with a little time and patience the DIY on alloy refurb ( with the correct paint from WURTH ) is an absolute breeze
Wash n clean the wheel then dry, rough sandpaper to really flatten out the damage, add a little filler making sure that its proud obviously and sand back to a smooth finish, add 2 coats of primer, a very light sanding, followed by 2-3 coats of paint sprayed at different angles to ensure good coverage, then followed by 2-3 coats of lacquer - job done honestly
When I took mine to Kwik fit as they had seen the damage originally they commented on how good a job it was....all for around £50 + some time and the satisfaction of doing it yourself!
I had a set done for my Jag X type by a "professional" company and honestly in hindsight I could have done a little better myself now I've tried it. I guess though you can get them done for around £50 - £60 per wheel if you wanna go that way.....gets kinda expensive though if the mrs scrapes them again n againa as they tend to do

As for the 3.0 Tdi Quattro MF........yeah a little bit of kidology there, but generally only an Audi fan would know the difference, and some actually don't...lol
Unfortunately couldn't afford the 3.0 Quattro proper at the time so for around £10 for a few badges it was cheaper....lol

Put the Quattro insert above the glovebox in too and added an Sline badge on the grille for a little colour

    Shame on you
    I'm suitably ashamed! Sorry Jim.

I took a couple of quick snaps with the iPhone this morning, but one shows my registration so will need fixing before I post it up. The other shows the gap between wheel and wheelarch (I specced the foc 30mm drop S line suspension to replace the standard 20mm drop Sport suspension when ordering the car) and is below (complete with kerbed rim).

There are more pics of the car on my profile page too...

    Cheers!
