a3 quattro problems

hi i have just bought a a3 55 tdi quattro 140 it sometimes goes into limp mode and the emission light has come on yellow can anyone help i also want to get a vagcom maxscan will it work on this model cheers

You need a VAGCOM scan for fault codes to point you in the right direction to start with. Anything would just be pure guesswork I'm afraid.

Never heard of it. Its nothing to do with VAGCOM though. Google shows a "maxscan gs500" - is that what your talking about? I guess that might work.

To be fair though, it isnt VAGCOM so I dont know. VAGCOM is the most popular tool out there and that's the one thats most referenced on here.

If whatever tool you have can read the fault code details then thats a place to start your investigation.

the usual just before a was to take the car to the garage the light went out, the code still came up 16618 overboosting he cleared the code everything seems to be ok would that be the case or is it temperary

You might find it'll come back again, you might get lucky and it'll run OK from now on, just see how it goes
