    Hi All,

    Newbie to this forum.

    Just bought a 04 S4 Avant. Power steering has gone on strike, well is only partially assisting. It was working occassionaly but no longer. Its at Midland VW at the moment and they think its the servotronic solenoid valve. Which is only available with the rack! Which seems to be Audi only and £750!

    Anyone had such problems. Any advice, thoughts?

    You had the servotronic solenoid reconditioned? Who did that for you?

    Can anyone help, I found a recon rack but it did not have the solenoid fitted, I've spoken to a PAS recon place and they told me they only recon the mechanics from damaged cars, they do not replace or test the solenoid, which is likely to be typical I guess of all refurbished PAS.

    If I do have to buy a new one does anyone know where the cheapest place to try is?
