    Jim -
I found the picture but forgot they were R8 replicas instead of RS4s. Theyre still 19" and on a /35 tyre. Not lowered and on a standard SE. There is quite a big gap on standard suspension setup.

Thanks for finding that and posting it Chris...much appreciated
The gap is slightly bigger I guess than I would like, but then again, not as bad as I had imagined, if that makes sense....lol

The only way is gonna be to fit them and see for real I guess. Wheels were'nt ready today as I picked my car up from having the rear pads done and a brake fluid change, but no big deal. I'll get them early / mid week next week.

On the upside, some of you guys may have heard me talking about a detail for my car? Well it was booked in with a guy in Glasgow for mid November, but as I was collecting my car today, across from Audi there has sprung up a detailer, so I went and checked him out.
Place looks great, work looks top notch too, so my car is booked in for Tuesday / Wedneday next week for swirl removal / paint protection for £300
Once completed and if he does a write up c/w pics I'll post it up for anyone that may be interested.

    Thanks guys

Glad its helped you a bit Jim. Go ahead and fire them on and see what they look like standard.

Good that youre getting it detailed and let us see the results!

Oh, and you know when you come out of Glasgow Audi and drive down past Porsche and you come to a set of crossroads? My 2010 disc thought there was a roundabout there and there clearly wasnt! Weird :S

    Don't do it Jim

Like Ive said on my own thread. They'll look lost in there. Go for the lowered suspension

    £200-£225 for Springs
£200-£350 for Garage to lower it.

Remember Jim we spoke about detailing a while back. I got lots of quotes ranging from £300-£600 & 10hrs to 20hrs depending on who you spoke to.

My car was quite bad for swirls so I did all the reading etc on detailing & even priced a Machine Polisher too.

I ended up just buying the basic needs & followed some common sense.

I washed the car with the 2 bucket method (Highly Recommend),
I then went over the whole car with a Meguires Clay Bar & Lubricant.
Rubbed in the a mild cutting compound that coloured too (BLACK)
Rubbed it off, then all over the car with Auto Glym Super Resin Polish.
Polished that off, then waxed all over with Collinite 915 Wax.

What a difference. All swirl marks were gone. Yes, I accept my car has some scratches that require a Machine Polish the apperance of the has improved 100 fold & the water beads off it like nothing I've ever used before.

Now that all sounds like hard work & if I'm honest, it was a bit, but I tell you something..........I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I think its the personal pride & satisfaction of doing it yourself.

You should give it ago as you could be saving yourself over £300

Ended up spending 2 weekends on it in total. Worth every minute.

I masked my boot lid & did a test run on all the stuff I bought.

    Just my 2 cents worth

Thanks for the info Michael...great stuff
Glad you got the detailing sorted out ( sent you a pm before I read this ...lol )
I have mine booked in for 2 days at a cost of £250 for full detailing and swirl removal / hologrammimg removal etc etc ( sounds worse than it is really I guess, but as I may have the car for another year or so I want it done! ) and don't really have the time myself.
I honestly reckon by the time I research, but the DA / rotary / compounds / polishes etc etc I'd be around half way there anyway!

As for the wheels? If they turn out anything like Chris posted up it may not be too bad and sumthin I could live with...gotta see it in the flesh before I can judge i suppose. Thing is I wanna take of my TT Trapeze 17's and fit to my wifes VW Passat and will then sell here 16's which have great tyres, so there'll be some £££ coming back from that.

While at the dealer today for rear pads and fluid changes I got them to enable "horn chirp on lock" activation for me....top guys

Interesting! In that case perhaps my dealer is a lying b'stard because I asked for flaps when I bought the car and they said mud flaps wouldn't fit the S-Line bumper and side skirts. The A6 brochure for 2010 suggests the same thing.

I wouldn't be surprised. I've decided I prefer the car without them though. Stonechips be damned!

Ok, so I know a wheels a wheel and all that, but, I eventually got mine today from the dealer
They were all grubby from the tyrefitters doing their thing as they wrapped them in rubber for me and needed a good clean
Anyway, as it was torrential rain outside, I decided to bring them inside and cleaned them up good as new and applied a little tyre black, and voila

Obviously, I'm dying to get the time to fit them onto the car and see what they look like, but, then I'm wondering, do I wanna keep my existing wheels on just now to see out the winter and put these on in the spring next year?
I'm thinkin maybe, but gotta see what they look like.......got em for £508 for the set in the end....brand new set c/w Khumo Ectsa 255x35x19's can't be bad
