    hey all

    i have a golf 2.0 tdi gt i have been useing shell diesel extra for the past two months with good results. but shell have said that they will be selling
    there new v-power diesel country wide in the next few weeks. at the moment it is only available in some service stations down south.

    has anybody tried it and is it any good ??

    i have discussed this long and hard on several forums and the general consensus is that unless you have a highly tuned and refined engine (for example an RS4) the benefits that can be offered from the superior fuel would not be felt.

    for a typical Tdi, id say shell diesel extra has to be the best choice, it is my first and only choice for diesel, i average around 40/45 mpg, its consistently the cheapest and there is no smoke when running on it.

    tbh mate, id save your money, you really wouldnt notice the difference.

    thanks mate i have no plans to tune my engine so i think ill stick to the diesel extra. its given me good enough performance up to now.

    im with you on this. I use shell and only shell, my car seems to run a lot better with shell in my tank, other brands and it doesnt seemt to run as smooth.
