I've been thinking about the above, on and off for a while now.
I've never really been into modding my car whether it's cosmetic or engine so to spend a load of money on unnecessary parts is something I've never done...............until now.

    I got the A4 remapped.
    RS6 Alloys
And now considering de chroming.....but I don't fancy spending the £140 or so on the grill then either spending a saturday afternoon trying to remove and replace my front bumper. That would also leave my window trims and boot sill chrome.
Many other forum members have used insulating tape or plasti dip (spray on rubber) both of which are matt finish. So I wondered about getting them vinyl wrapped.

I can get all the window trim, the grill and the boot sill vinyl wrapped for £270. Matt finish that can be removed should I ever have to.
Even better it's a place that's around 15miles from where I live. I've checked their site and it looks like what they do is pretty good.

What would you guys think of the chrome trim being matt black? I seen several pics of cars with matt trim and I looks pretty good.
    Example

I'm sure anyone who's considered it has looked so knows what I mean.

Opinions on price/looks/quality would be appreciated

    de chrome
    but 270 is quite alot
its very easy to diy and you would get the wrap for around £50 for a few hours of your time you would be saveing a lot
also like you say you can remove when ever you want

    Thanks Bez

I've seen a few sellers on ebay with vinyl wrap. but I've no idea how easy it is to fit, or what's involved.
Is it really as simple as sticky back plastic with a bit of heat to go round bends?

    What about joints?
    Where do they go?
    What about washing the car?
How big a sheet do I need to minimize joints?

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

I think I'll have a look on Ebay and see what sizes are available.
I can try the chrome edge on my grill to start - one piece should do that. If it's quite straight forward I could try the boot sill and eventually the windows if I'm feeling brave!!!

Bez - what's this di nok you mention. I've seen plenty places selling 3M vinyl which seems to be the real mccoy. Is di nok another brand?

Where are you out of interest?

    Cheers
