The front windscreen of my MK6 was misting up terribly too, but using glass cleaner on the inside made a huge difference. The parts around the edge I missed while cleaning still mist up while the area I cleaned stays clear.

Ok, I give up! What cleaner did you use such that, by its application you don't have a misting windscreen anymore?

Well if you read the link its just plain old washing up liquid in hot water.

Washing up liquid is perfectly suitable for screen interiors but it's inadvisable to add it to your screen wash bottle....the salt content will tarnish the paintwork.

It's a seasonal thing - like the first cuckoo. After a summer of blissfully clear screens, I can record my first "misting." 30th September 2010. Drove in dry to watch Man City v Juventus. No rain during match, return to car, that tell tale patch there again. Temperature had dropped but not by much.

My Bora did it too. It's really odd, because, in my case, the aircon seems to make it worse (ie if it has been on before you park).

Seems to be endemic with VWs although saying that, a bloke I know has a Honda Jazz and the whole car mists up!

I would hazard a guess that with the amount of misting the OP is complaining about that there is water getting into the inside of the car and it is this that is causing this excessive misting.

You will find that if the A/C is used throughout the year (not just on hot days) then it should remove the moisture in the car.

No water getting into the inside of the car, I can assure you! Plenty of water in the doors however and this escapes when doors are opened.
The other poster is correct about this condition being worse when you have already have had the aircon on and then stopped for an hour or so and then go back to the car and restart and all the front windows fog up but clear when the aircon gets to work.

Precisely. I dread coming back to the car after a couple of hours and when the fan starts up all the front windows mist up.

One thing I forgot to say is I wonder if VW know the windscreen mists up because when you press the screen vent position only the AC comes on, all the other buttons it doesn't, another pain. It still hasn't misted up yet with all this damp weather.
