yup - came last Friday. Very happy with the car.

its bigger than i remember - starting to think i should have invested in the automatic parking!

Taken me a while to get used to the controls - things arte just subtly different enough from the BMW's i have been driving for years to be just vaguely annoying!

Was surprised when lights started coming on when i was turning corners - didnt even know that was a feature!

    Enjoy when you get yours!

    Hi vwparly

I'm glad you are are enjoying yours, what are the vaguely annoying bits you mention?

Mine is same colour and spec as yours except no heated screen and folding mirrors but with park assist. A bit miffed that the dealer is driving both our vehicles up to us (200+ miles) but as they are lease vehicles I guess we don't have a say on this!

i wish i had went for park assist instead of the folding mirrors. I keep forgetting to actually fold them - i had assumed they would be automatic. I really like the MDI - bought a cheap i pod on ebay and now have my whole collection in the car!

Its things like how the cruise control works and the parking brake function that are just a bit different - nothing actually wrong with them. I find the satnav a bit fiddly. slightly dissapointingly its not as good as my 3 year old tom tom, but i cant bring myself to put the tomtom back in the car when it already has a satnav built in!

I sat last night for an while reading the maual trying to figure out what could be done in the MFD - was annoying to see that many of the functions they talk about in the manual arent actually available, though i did manage to figure out out to get fuel consumption figures that werent only for the trip you are on.

the car drives very smoothly - no complaint at all, apart from wishing i had the 170 instead of the 140. the 140 is perfectly fine and i am sure in the long run its the better option given fuel prices! I have settled on the sport setting on the suspension - the others seem far too soft and bouncy for me - but thats probably because i have been in an m sport withquite stiff suspension for quite some time.

Like others have said - for the money i am paying its an abolute bargain. given the kit and the price I have no regrets in no going for a comparabe 3 series or A4. anyone that did at the time was really just buying a badge (and a quicker delivery!). I am sure within a week or so i will be used to all the differences and wont look back!

hope you enjoy yours when it comes

I found the 5Series auto-hold feature felt rather 'low-tech' with the BMW auto gearbox. You can feel it taking up the strain, allowing the back of the car to droop slightly before releasing.

In comparison the VW auto-hold (in conjunction with DSG) feels very sophisticated - in releasing at exactly the right moment.

have to agree that the auto hold is good. i didnt have a problem with it on my 3 series, but i know others who found it very clunky.

On the basis that it's going to behave exactly the same as my B6 with DSG then the autohold is aboslutely superb and makes for a fantastice diving experience. Once you set it such that it's always enabled you can just forget about it.
It copes very well with inclines and has never caused me any grief whatsoever.

Ordered my cc in Feb - build date was 23rd May and it is due for delivery next Friday. Little longer than was expecting - but clearly no way as long as some others have had! Can't wait.
