First of I should clarify that I'm in the States and am posting because I have yet to receive much help from vwvortex ...

the car in question is an '01 Jetta 1.8T AWW with Revo stage 1 software.

I've been having a lot of trouble with this car and one thing seems to come right after the other. Every time the most obvious issue is resolved, i.e. cps or coils, it still doesn't feel quite right. i know how this car drives when its running correctly, because my dad was the original owner.

It appears to go into limp when it starts, holding rpm at about 1200rpm for a few minutes. When the idle normalizes it drops to a rough (approx.) 900rpm or so. It idles a little rough afterward, bouncing between 800rpm to 900rpm.

The annoying thing is the performance. The boost feels flat. at low rpm in low gears under steady throttle it sputters and jerks, sometimes when its cool its worse. Under heavy throttle it boggs down in high gear. It acts like it wants to go, but then just flattens out.

i had a vacuum leak a while ago and it almost feels the same, it was a rotted out pcv hose, but yesterday i tried to find a vacuum leak by way of the "throttle body cleaner method" and the rpms didnt budge.

Could this be a DV issue? What the hell is going on? I miss how responsive and fun my Jetta used to be, HELP!!

I would start with a fault code read and if that did not show any codes, then I would do a charge air system pressure test but you need to find someone with the VAG pressure testing system. When I do this test I often find three or four leaks such as the PCV hose you mentioned (I did one yesterday on a TT) and around the injector bases but also I have seen split intercoolers and leaking boost hoses. Ignore the red arrow.
