    I have been quoted some hety prices to have my clutch changed as I 'might' have a dual mass flywheel

    Car is a 2001 1.9 TDI 135PD

    How can I tell?
    Does anyone know?

    Your car would have been fitted with a DMF as
    standard from new.

    It seems that only B5 Passats from 97 and early
    98 had single MF.

    However, it may have been replaced with a conversion
    kit, by a previous owner.

    People, who are familiar with these cars, can tell the difference.
    Otherwise, its open and see.

    DMF should be fitted to your passat mate

    Had the new clutch and dual mass bloody flywheel fitted yesterday. With quotes almost reaching the Grand mark, I think I got off lightly with an invoice for £550.
