    Hi

I overtook an VW transporter this morning and saw a few unregistered Golfs, mainly estates, with a Bluemotion badge and a red i in the tdi badge. It looked quite classy and gave the impression of a more sporty car. The wheels had wheel covers on but I'm pretty sure that the wheels were Atlanta. Anyone have any ideas on what model of car this is?

Think the 105bhp 1.6TDI (and BM version) now has a red I in the TDI badge to distibguish it from the 90bhp TDI engine.

Perhaps i should get a new badge for mine with a red I and red D

Yes Googling for this tends to show that it depends on the power output fitted. If its got a red I its 110, red DI its 130 and red TDI its 150. They've had these coloured letters for a long time.

I thought that referred to the old 1.9 range as there isn't a 110, 130 and 150 output any more. Is there?

    1.6 90 - TDI
    1.6 105 - TDI
    2.0 140 - TDI

    Would be my guess.

    Absolutely correct

    Current UK variants are
    1.6TDI 90bhp
    1.6TDI 105bhp (with/without bluemotion)
    2.0TDI 140BHP

    and the early Mk6 also had a 110bhp 2.0TDI

    all wore silver/chrome TDI badges.

I've never seen red bagde letters on a mk6.
Interesting blue I on NA TDI models.

    Attached Images
Golf Match 2.0 tdi 140 Bluemotion tech, fogs, folding mirrors. Reversing camera didn't make it, so enjoying DAB.

Other motor is a Nissan Pathfinder.

Keith, I think your google link proves the point, since I don't think there are any immages of a mk 6 with a red badge!

OP saw them on new brand cars, very interesting if they have introduced this now.
