    Hello all.

I need some help/advise/pointers to stop me pulling any remaining hairs out

    2001 Golf Gt-tdi 115 Pd engine!

I currently have a few issues with my car.

1, I have a coolant temp reading of -20 which will increase to -5 at best.
2, Injector number 3 shows no operation on the readings on my scan tool.
    3, Speedo inop.
4, Car drops into a form of (limp mode) and will struggle to get to 70mph

I have a quick scan through here and I have replaced what would seem to be a common problem on the pd which is the injector harness, but still no difference.

Any help would be gratefully received.

    Many thanks

    Ian

the coolent temp sensor is pretty simple to replace and not that exspensive to buy from vw, after a while the get corroded and give dogdy signals it is located to the back of the black, about half way down on the right hand side of the engine (asif looking from the front) and the sensor is a green colour

The CTS from VW will be green, but the original one in the car is likely to be black.

Limp mode and struggling to get to 70mph all sound like a failing MAF. Another symptom is that you can't rev above 3000 rpm or so. The MAF rarely logs a fault. Do you get any specific faults come up when you run a fault scan?

    Right, just a little update.

Speedo sensor pins have rotted away as to have the pins on the oil temp sensor so I know what's needed to sort that problem.
Had a look at the temp sensor, pins had water in them, clean up but no joy. There is the option of a green or a blue sensor. currently running a green one, is this correct?

    Cheers

    Hello

Replaced the temp sensor today bloody worse. wont start now.

Need to try and get it on vag-com to see if this injector is still deed.

Is the replacement of the injector a DIY job ?

    Thanks again

    Ian
