Can anyone tell me what electrical input the VW PD injectors require to open and inject fuel. I am trying to adapt an aftermarket user programmable ECU (Motec) to run a 130pd golf engine. I am hoping that they are not like the BMW ones which need 100 volts to fire them!
    Has anyone done this before?

I am probably wrong, but i thought all pds are mechanical injection, through high pressure pump, and injector opened by camshaft, cant remember for sure but i built an a4 115bhp P D , and I think that was how it worked. let me know if i am wrong, I am searching for a bosch microfisch that should have the electronic data on it for fuel metering per solenoid etc pulse duration, voltage etc, meantime try crasher hes hard to beat.
    good luck des.

HI Passat, 2 00K, look at the menu on top of the home page ,hit members, you will see the ABC etc hit the c pages until you find crasher, you can email him direct, i think he will help you, My young son was dealing with you he works with toyotas he knows little about VAGs, and should not have been on my computer, if you dont get sorted it will be very unusual.
    Good Luck meantime.

hi as above the injectors are driven by the camshaft, just had a look in bosch esi they take up to 25 amps to open and close the solenoid on each injector, the standard ecu has an 80v capacitor which uses back emf to charge it
