Mysterious Beeping

I've had my 2006 A6 2.0 TDI for approx 2 weeks now.

Just recently, when driving, a continous beep (similar to what you hear if low on fuel) sounds. It lasts for approx 2-3 seconds.

If I have a CD on the music cuts out, it beeps, then the music re-starts. It sometimes happens a few times and seems to be in the morning when the car has not long been started.

Can anyone help with this?

Check the handbrake is fully off, I have an A3 and on a couple of occasions I have not put the handbrake down fully and this also causes the sound. On mine the handbrake handle seems to sit very low down in the off position so it's quite easy to drive off with it still slightly engaged because the position of it looks like it is off

Thanks - It has a 'button' handbrake though rather than the manual type.

What about the Speed Warning 1 or 2. That might be set.
Though I think Speed Warning 1 is lost on power off.

When it beeps, does any info come up on the DIS? They usually go hand in hand to tell you what the warning's about.

I've only had the speed warning beep and info on the DIS when driving on the motorway at 80+. I wasn't aware there could be 2 speed warnings set?

I'l check for the other although this beeping issue is intermittent so I don't think it would be this - worth a check though.

When it happens, no information comes up on the DIS. It seems to happen when playing a cd after the car has recently been started. I don't think it's done it when I have had the radio on. I'm now thinking maybe it's something to do with that but it is puzzling!
