I previously had a 2.0 TDi Mk5 with DSG and read that a similarly-driven Golf Plus would be much the same car, only with slightly raised seats and a bit more space, so I sold my 2004 Golf and bought a 2007 Golf Plus, both have the PD engine I believe. Big mistake!
Inside, at low speeds it has a much louder, harsher engine note, quite unpleasant in fact. It doesn't ride nearly as well, in fact my wife now gets travel sick. It's been checked over at both a main dealer and an independent, both say it's fine.
Oh, and does anyone know why I can't reset only one of the two trips? When I press the reset both trips 1 and 2 are reset to zero.

Code according to the V5 (I assume it's part of the engine number) is BKD B4****4. If that's not what you're asking, please say where I can find the code on the car. It's a 140 BHP version, a "Golf Plus GT TDi S-A". I gather the S-A bit means semi-automatic.

That is the engine code, which means both cars have the same engine. It is odd about the engine feel but I wonder if the Plus has the Sports suspension option?

Parkers says both have lowered sports suspension. I wonder if my older Golf was just an exceptional car as I have read criticisms of the Golf diesels that they were "harsh" engines, but I never agreed with that. But I'd certainly agree for the Golf Plus.
    Thanks for your interest.
