If it won't change then you can't change it. I am out of ideas. You could try recoding the gateway to F9807F16500302001002. This should not work but it is worth a try.

The eBay seller told me this:

"You need to cut pin 2 inside the box. Like on the 530 L. Otherwise no.

This fault is from the RNS-510, I think it is bad coded. He needs to remove unit 37 and 56 from the Can gateway, remove key from car, and reinsert key in car. login into can gateway again remove errors, and add unit 37 & 56 again and test for errors.."

and I have seen this in another forum:

    Hey.

The part number is : 3C0907530 and should end with either H, L or Q but remember if you intall the L or Q version you have to take the gateway apart end cut the 2. pin from the right otherwise the gateway will be toasted and you have to buy a new one.

The can gateway is placed just left of the gas pedal and a little up there is a 20 pin blue plug in it.

I have never heard of cutting pins before. I would not do that as the gateway may end up as scrap.

    Hi Guys,

    1. I am currently driving Passat Variant B6 2.0T 2007.

    2. Please see pic of old & new CAN gateway.

    http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/6...3644resize.jpg
Left: Original CAN gateway. Right: New CAN Gateway

    3. My installer has already installed the RNS510 (LED version) and reverse camera installed.

    4. The new CAN gateway has the ‘back-up cam’ (6C) option available. The old CAN gateway does not have this option. The other purpose of upgrading the CAN gateway is to prevent battery draining.

    5. When we switch on the ignition & select reverse gear:
    a) the ‘bulb blown’ indicator lights up
    b) the reverse light on the rear does not light up. No voltages.
    c) reverse cam doesn’t work. Nothing happened/showed up on the RNS 510 screen.
    * We copied the old CAN gateway settings to the new CAN gateway settings. Only include “back-up cam” option on the new CAN gateway.

    6. The faults which i mentioned in 5(a) & 5(b) will only go away after he swapped back to the old (original) gateway.

    Questions:
    a) Is this the correct new CAN gateway for the Passat Variant B6

    b) One of the thread mentioned, one should cut ‘pin 2′. Can anyone elaborate more on why this should be done. Is this related to what i am encountering now?

    c) The reverse camera module wirings are OK (with the original/old CAN gateway) because he tried connecting the output to a portable DVD player, put to reverse gear, and there is picture on the portable dvd player. This experiment was done while waiting for the new CAN gateway.

    Please advise.

    Thanks in advance.

To offer any help you will have to post an autoscan with the original can gateway and another scan with the new can gateway so we can see what is happening.
