Hi, I have recently acquired an Audi 80 Cabrio. Lovely car but I have noticed it has a tendency to veer to the left. It is not harsh but does need constant correction. I have confirmed the problem by driving on right side of the road; car still veers left over the centre line and not to the right to follow road camber as you might expect.
It has had new front pads and discs, but a spin check reveals no excessive drag. Both sides feel the same.
Have noted that even on flat surface at very low speed, with 'hands off', that the steering wheel gently 'kicks' to the left as the car moves forward.
Any known history for this model before I embark on potentially lengthy troubleshooting?

    Many thanks,

    hi,

my old 80 coupe used to do a simlar thing and it turned out to be worn bottom arm bushes. so the trakcing was out.

check the bushes are ok then go for wheel camber and tracking alignment.

oh and check tyre pressures are correct too.

    hope this helps

    Thanks for response.

Tyre pressures good. Had the tracking checked and adjusted last week.
I have read that bushes may be a problem on this car, but on first inspection, all looks pretty clean and tidy under there?

Does anyone have a good source for Audi spare parts?

    Martin
