    hi all,

    VW GOLF MK5 TDi 1.9 (105) 2006

I was driving back fromwork yesterday, i pulled out of a junction quite heave and noticed it was difficult to select a gear, anyway, i carried on once the gear was selected untill i had to come to a stop.

I knocked the gear stick in to neutral and then couldnt select a gear, the clutch peddle was very light, no resistance.

I managed to finaly select a gear and limped home.

I have come to look at the car today, i pumped the clutch peddle for a while and now there is resistance... here is the weird part...

The engine runs well and the gears engage and the clutch depresses etc etc, I just get no drive. I do not require the clutch to be depressed in order to change gears either, i can literally just cycle the gears without the clutch depressed with the engine running.

Im thinking Input shaft has disengaged and needs to be put back into position, or differential has gone?

    Anyhelp would be great

    Thanks
