ok just thought i would see if anybody know i have a 2000 a6 2.7t saloon with parking sensors at the bottom of the bumper in a piece of trim this is factory fitted so my question is as i have fitted an rs6 exhaust i have had to cut the trim to accomodate the exhaust pipes but it was a big hole and so has cut into the parking sensor holes can i fit a later bumper with the parking sensors in the middle of the bumper say from a 2002-2003 or are they completley different?

AFAIK only the RS6 rear bumper has the parking sensors mounted higher in the main part of the bumper, but an RS6 bumper won't suit your car because it designed to match up to the flared arches. I reckon your best bet would be to fill whats left of the outer holes and drill a new pair for the outer sensors.
