I know there is a guide out there from carboncopydesigns on how to remove the trim/ashtray covers when switching out trim, but I've noticed differences in the ashtrays. First, the aluminum cover on the rear ashtray is different than the wooden cover. The wooden cover simply slips off, but the aluminum cover is actually fixed on with metal tabs that are bent around the actaul ashtray lid. Does this also apply to the front ashtray? Following the guidance from carboncopydesigns, I am still unable to pull the cover off of the front ashtray and the only guidance i've been given is to "keep trying" and it will eventually come off. I've pulled hard enought to where I can feel and see the entire cover, plastic and all, bending as I put stress on it. I fell like if I keep pulling it's going to snap and i'll be without an asthray cover at this point. Does anyone have any experience with this? Aside from removing the entire ashtray, do I have any other options to get this off?
