    Hi all,
My MOT is due on the 19th of august and im going to get a new set of brakes all round. Iv got a 2003 Golf GT TDI 130.
Iv seen a set on ebay that are drilled and grooved, it comes with front and rear discs and pads for £145, i would link but im at work. iv also seen some on euro car parts that are "pagid" i think and discs and pads are about £160 just standard brakes.
which should i go for or is there a better option?
problem with mine is that they are warped and judders when i come to stop.
    cheers guys

eBay no brands will offer no end of trouble imho. I've got pagid on the polo and I'm quite happy with them. For standard braking, OEM or OEM standard from a decent motorfactor like ECP will be good enough.

get them on sooner rather than later though, bedding in can take a while

Are the ones on ebay new? Personaly i wouldn't touch ebay with a barge pole, but try to find out what manufacture they are and try a search to see if you can buy elswhere.
If you must have drilled and grooved, buy from a reputable or trusted source, don't take a chance with anything unknown, it ain't worth it.

There was a recent case of counterfeit brake pads that the packaging was virtually indistguishable from the real OEM parts. The pads were found to lethal ! Tread very carefully when buying from Ebay ! I certainly would not buy any brake parts from Ebay.
GSF do Brembo ( supplier to Ferrari F1) discs and Pagid pads . I've fitted about 15 sets of normal road Brembo high carbon discs over quite a few years and have never had a problem with them. VAG prices are much more competitive than they used to be.

Check out "GSF car parts" on Google and give you local branch a call.

iv decided against the ones on ebay after the advice given. been for mot today and back set are fine, so only need front set of pads and discs. so il post the sets that im looking at.
i called the company to check fitments, they suggested the pagid set over the performance set but i wanted to check before buying!

    changed my mind again,
iv seen reviews for black diamond brakes and when looking there not too expensive,
i can get a set of front discs drilled and vented and black diamond predator pads for £189,
now would there be a problem putting performance brakes on front and standard on back until they wear out?
also should i go for grooved, drilled or combi?
the reason i wanted to go for these discs is that i will be getting a remap to 175bhp so wanted more stopping power.
good idea to go for these or just go for the pagid ones on eero car parts?
    cheers

Personally, I have been having many problems with non-genuine discs and pads for Golf 4 platform cars, to such an extent that we are now using only genuine discs and pads. I had been experiencing many sets of non-genuine discs warp and cause brake judder so I started using only genuine discs but still using Textar pads. Then every set of Textar pads I fitted (including to my own car) started to squeal and groan so I am now only fitting genuine pads and all problems have stopped. This though does not include my sales of Black Diamond discs and pads from which I get very little trouble.
