    Hello!!

My first post! I have just bought a 2006 2.0T S-line multitronic, absolutely love it, best car I have owned so far, I used to have a 1995 B5 A4, then strayed to vauxhall, VW and honda and when I saw this audi I couldnt resist!

Anyway, as mine has the multitronic gearbox, can I buy a steering wheel with paddles and make it work, i.e. plug and play, or would I need to modify looms etc?

    Thanks.

Not much point IMHO as you have the multitronic (CVT) box, hence it doesnt really 'change' gear. It can be done though if you want it, It's unlikely to be plug and play (depends on your car and what revision control units are fitted into it). You might need a new steering ECU (£110 ish) and you'll also need the wiring harness for the wheel (£30, if the wheel you get doesnt come with it)

You'll also need access to VAGCOM to recode the control units.

I test drive a multitronic with the paddle shift. It effectively gave you 7 gears but imho it is not worth it. I tried it out but with the reduced rev range of the diesel you feel as if you are forever changing gear.
