a6 2.0 tdi Timing belt and water pump.

Hi all, just had my belt replaced. Long story but supplying dealer initially said he would do this, then I got him to stump up for tyres. I supplied a water pump today when he said he would replace the belt... I have a nagging suspicion he hasnt carried out the work and kept the pump! (not an Audi main dealer)

Is there and easy way with the bonnet open I can see if these have bothe been replaced? Im probably being silly but just have this nagging doubt. Where I think teh water pump sits it certainly doesnt look like the new one..

Also the bonnet doesnt seem to be sitting correctly, is this supposed to have a gap at the froont above and to the side of the grille? just doesnt look right.. God his car is making me paranoid!

Without removing the timing covers it is very, very difficult to see the new pump.
It sounds as though the front has not gone back on properly from the sevice position. Take it back. Regards Peter
