    Morning,
I need to replace the trim that surrounds the switches/handle on the inside of my drivers door. I can't find any advice on searching the previous posts. Is it best to prise the old one off and replace or is there a knack on how to do it without damaging/marking the new part? My car is a Golf Mark 4 130 TDI 51 plate.
Hope that someone has done this and can advise me.
    Cheers

Is it this the sort of thing you want to replace? http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/sear...+mk4+door+trim

I dont know how to remove the fitted ones but a look on the underside of the replacements should give you an indication of the fixings.

Foxy's one of those long standing Forum legends.

I did the W8 mod as one of my first "hack my car" mods. Puddle and handle lights are still on my list though.

how difficult would you say it is? i can do some wiring, i've managed to wire in neons before etc. i love subtle glows, so something like a pale blue/aqua light to blend in with the dials would be good and as far as i know, the police dont have issue with it

W8 mod took me about 30mins.

VAGParts do a complete kit, all you provide is the longer wires (console, down A-pillar and into dashlight dimmer) and the heatshrink tubes.

I can let you have the guide I used, but Foxy's is more tailored to your car.

As for the handles, that's slightly more complicated (again I have a guide for the Passat) and involves drilling your car.

Puddle lights are even easier, it could be as simple as swapping the bulbs or as complicated as adding a whole new cluster and bulb combo
