    Hi all,
    recently purchased a 2000 tt 225

when switching the car on, no esp light comes on the dash, and when i press the esp button - nothing happens?

what the heck could this be?

how can i find out if my car has esp or if it was one without it? if it was without esp, then why would it have a esp button ?

    any ideas ?

Scan the car for fault codes
Look in the vagcom section for a member in your area.

IIRC the esp button needs to be held down/in for 3 seconds before it switches on/off

How about using VCDS to monitor an output test on the switch? Also check the coding of the ABS unit is correct.

Just a thought, could you swap the heated screen switch with the ESP switch
to see if its a switch problem.
I have no idea if they will have the same connections but it might be worth a try.

if it was a switch issue, surely it would still light up(then go out) when turning the key?
