    Hi there all,
Another dipped headlight question, I have a B5 W reg. facelift. The headlights are bright on full and dipped, my problem is that the dipped are too dipped, if you know what I mean, and when I adjust the height on the dash (so I can see a reasonable distance using dipped) the main beam is two high. Any suggestions.

    Thanks

Mine's the same - have had them re-alinged to make sure they're correct.

Interestingly, we have an '08 Fiesta Zetec S which I fitted Philips X-Treme Power bulbs into which made a hell of a difference in light output, so put the same bulbs into the A4 and they made hardly any difference...

A mate of mine had a Passat with the projector style headlights and reckoned they were pretty poo; guess it's just how they are.

    Cheers,

    Nick

You can just aim them slightly higher,
I'm not sure if yours will adjust the same as mine as mines a bit older, but the priciple will be the same.
You should see a screw on the top of your headlight assembly (or somewhere on it, like i said mine might be different) which can accept either and allen key or a flat screwdriver, you can see that it is a gear rather than a screw.
Park your car facing a flat surface, a wall or I prefere the garage door. mark the level of the lights on the wall/door, then adjust the screw to raise the level of your lights. You can then use the marks you made on the wall/door to ensure you only adjust them slightly and evenly, you dont want one or both of them pointing in the sky...!

    Thanks for that.
I think that I have tryed this, but it also adjusts the main beam, all I want is to rais the dipped beam leaving the full beam as is.

The full beam should just flood the area in front of the car, so as long as you're subtle with your adjustments you shouldn't notice the full beam too much.
Other than that not sure I can help you dude, sorry!
    Maybe someone else knows?!
