I've just got back from my hols and whilst away i got a funny metallic rattle on the OSF seems to only make a noise when you go over sharp bumps nothing over gradual bumps sounds abit like the disk back plate rattling buti have checked that and can't see anything wrong also checked all the suspension joints whilst there but they are all tight and most a fairly new.
it doesn't affect the drive of the car it's just dam annoying

i've had to put up with this noise for a year or two now, if you do a search on the forum you'll find that there is a few people on here with the same problem, with mine it's from both sides & it sounds like a bag of spanners when i go over bumps, not all the time though, i find that if i gently press the brake pedal the noise dissapears. i did change the pads all round which were purchased from the dealer & fitted correctly & the rattle went away for a while. i have read on here that one or two changed the calliper springs which solved the issue only a fiver each from the dealers so i'm told, i haven't got around to doing this yet though

This is most likely to be the brake pads rattling in the calipers - my car does it over very heavy bumps but you can only hear it when the windows are down. As mentioned above, if it doesn't do it when you are braking this will be the problem.

no the only thing that seems to make that noise is the change i'm left with in my pocket after VW have robbed me of all my notes
