Many manufacturers dual source parts so that in the event of a supply problem with one maker production can carry on with parts from the other . Also it helps to negotiate prices as the two makers are in competition.
On the MK5 its quite easy to see which alternator is fitted. If you use a small mirror and focus on the black plastic RHS voltage regular part of the alternator you will see the makers name and P/No. I know this because I've just done it on my daughters car ( 1.9 PD TDI). Her 05 reg. was a Valeo 140A VW part No. 06F 903 023C

Does anyone Know the correct tightening torque for the Alternator free wheel pulley ? Is This torque value on ElsaWin ? Is it 48 ft.lbs / 65 Nm ?
I can't afford to take chances on daughters' car !
The VW Part Number of the pulley is 022 903 119C.
    Thanks

Correct tightening torque is 85Nm (63lb.ft) as supplied by INA bearing Co. makers of the VW alternator pulley.
For Ref. the MK5 Golf Alternator Free Wheel Pulley
    ( VAG PNo. 022 903 119C ) , the INA P/No. is F-553470.02.
VW price for this INA Brg. was £47.58 + VAT , GSF price for exactly same INA brg was £26.50 + VAT (GSF P/No. 904VG0200 ).
