Window Tints

Hi,

My 2010 C6 Avant has the "Twin pane UV and heat insulating glass" option, not specified by me but I'm not complaining. I wanted to know if anyone here had ever tried tinting their windows with this option. I know that on the Audi configurator it's either/or, not both.

I'm asking because my previous car, an A4, had the privacy glass option which is really good when you've got little ones in the car.
I went to a local company but they put the frighteners on me by saying that because my windows were all laminated (except the rear) then there was a possibility that the windows could crack when they use a heat gun to cure the film. They would still do the work and relieve me of £240 but wanted to make me aware of the possibility.

I realise that the windows should offer UV protection anyway but I kind of like the privacy look, especially with the car being Ibis White.

So, anyone able to put my mind at rest?

Oh!!!!

I'm going to Hamilton Auto Tints to see about getting my 2007 A6 done this week.

Will need to ask them about that.

I had my a6 avant done by auto tints of Hull. Not massively impressed as you don't get a great seal on the black hatched area around the outside of the window. So much so I think I'll be taking it back in for them to have a look at. The opening rear windows are fine as they don't have the hatching. Remember from the b pillar backwards otherwise it's illegal!
