I run a 2005.5 2.0t fsi quattro s line on 235/40 18 wheels audi fit. The info plate on drivers side door shut says tyre pressure should be 41psi!!? I think this is two high and local tyre dealers seem to agree putting 34psi in when new tyres were fitted. I know that the 4x4 system requires accurate type pressures but running at 41 psi seemed to wear the fronts two quickly (conti sports contact 3) any thoughts?

That sounds like the fully laden pressures.
On the label there should be 2 pressures listed, light load and fully laden.

Ive just checked mine and although its a diesel it has same tyre size and states 36psi light load and 42psi fully laden.
I personally would go with 38psi.

I run 44psi all-round on my tfsi (235/40/R18). Wear pattern is perfect across the profile of the tyre. Lower pressures than this cause tramlining issues on older roads for me.

What about pressures on tyres that are non-standard?
I run 235x35x19 and noticed that my front nearside is wearing on outer edges so it's soft.

What should I run on my tyres?
    Any ideas?

    41psi????

I checked mine today and they're all low 30s.
I did have a soft tyre which was in the 20s but that's been sorted so mine are all sitting at around 32.

The wear seems ok apart from the one tyre which was too soft so I've obviously neglected my pressures for a bit but the other tyres are fine.

I'm going to need 4 new tyres in the next couple of months but would like a good idea of correct pressure.

    Hey guys,
    I'm new on the forum.

I put 41 in all four tyres as it shows on the plate.
I find that I get a better MPG on the recommended tyre pressure.
