    Hi all,
I'm the proud owner of my first Audi, however a week into my new found love I've been greeted by the Red temperature warning light flashing and beeping on my dash.
I haven't used the car for about 4 days but took it out yesterday done a quick trip locally into town before hitting the big roads..
The temperature gauge made it's way upto 90 and sat there fine, all day (before, during, and after the beeping and flashing of the Red temp light) so no problem there - however when accelerating the car above a good speed on the motorway the Red light came on, beeped and started flashing. It didn't go away, however when I did slow down below about 60mph and continued driving at that speed for about 30 seconds the light went off and beeping stopped. It was fine then for some time, until again I accelerated back upto a good speed, it went off again. I've checked water and under oil cap, levels are fine, oil cap clean.

I've done some searching and there seems to be some common problems but I couldn't pin-point any of the common fixes to my problem. Short of changing water pump, coolant tank, ECT, is there any specific item I should just clean or replace rather than the whole lot!
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers

Hi, I have VW golf 140bhp, similar problem. Common fault is the sensor in the header tank, when I rang VW they quoted problem back to me and said common fault. Thing is sensor is fixed in tnak, but only cost £15, try that first and see what happens.
    Cheers
