open to diesel and petrol varients.

Last saturday i drove to edingburgh. A45, M42, M6, M74 and A702 through Biggar to edingburgh. The next day i drove home. 320 miles each way and a bit of running around this morning and the odometer read 669.7 miles when i refuelled at tesco. On the way up the car dis said an average of 50mpg and on return 52ish. Was doing between 50 and 70 on the motorway when traffic and roadworks allowed.

    So what have you achieved?

    2.0T FSI 220ps

485 miles and that was using 68 litres of a 70 litre tank, now I have a new turbo fitted I might get more!

So I can see what extra economy you TDI drivers are getting

I did have a 1.9TDI B7 before and regularly got 650+ miles from a tank but can't recall the highest I ever got with that car.

Vast majority of my miles are short journeys - 10 miles or less - and I average about 540 miles before I need to fill up.
I'm looking forward to a decent drive to cornwall and back next week (310 miles each way) to see how far I can get.

Typically I get around 450 out of mine. Normal commute is around 10miles each way with mainly motorway driving.
Driving for work is normally longer but slower on b class and unclassified.

Driving to Liverpool in October for holidays (airport, not holidaying in Liverpool!!) so should get there and back on one tank - approx 450miles.

I'll be using cruise control and sitting around 65mph so average will be interesting.

B7 Petrol, Q Sline SE remapped to around 255bhp.

2.0T 220bhp - i manage 400-450 on average and thats a mix of motorway and town. I reckon i could get near 600 if i took it really steady as 500 doesnt take much effort. The short term average mpg often says over 40mpg! Better than my mates focus st which manages 24mpg on average. Incidentally my wifes Focus 1.8 petrol only manages 33mpg which is what mine does!!

I usually get about 330-400 depending on my journey but a recent trip around Donegal with very slow roads allowed me to achieve 535miles on a single tank which I was very happy with. I just wish I could always get that ;-)

    A6 2.0tdi remapped to 176.
Best I ever got on a long run from Glasgow to Derby, on to Swansea and back to glasgow was 696 miles with trip showing 40 odds left to go, so 730 miles I guess. When I refuelled trip told me to expect 915 miles if driven in the same manner. Obviously it was pretty much all motorway driving and 99% of the time at around 75mph with some raod works etc and a few burstsat 130 thrown in to releive the boredom. Average mpg was showing 52.1mpg
