My Vw Lt front suspension

Hi I`ve just bought a 03 Vw Lt van and when i go over a bump I get a knocking sound by my left foot. Having looked underneath i noticed the rubber bump stop is closer to the stop than on the passenger side. I thought this might be because the passenger side is allowing for the fact there might be 2 people on that side.
i asked the bloke at my garage and he was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

I had the same noise on my 53 LT35, and it went in under warrenty, and they had to replace ball joints on both sides, and the torsion bar bushes, this was at 30k and been lightly driven, I think these are a ( another) weak point on this vehicle, and anther part that is "not fit for purpose" oh and they had to replace all the glow plugs too due to poor starting, and don't get me started on the side door issues.

So much for a tough vehicle! PAH!!

This is the second VW I have owned, and the 1st and last LT. Poor build quality and very poor service from VW.
