Hi, i can buy a 55 plate passat 105 tdi, however the turbo has failed, suspect the oil pump to be the cause.
Does anyone know if this engine will require the expensive balancer shaft kit like the 140 models do?
Any advice on repair would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

If it's a 105 it's a 1.9 PD mate, so it won't be turbo fail caused by oil pump, it mat hawever be simply turbo failure as they do fail, you could also check the vacumn hoses as a leak will cut the turbo out.

Hi,thanks for that info, the guy who is selling it said he had it in at main dealer who told him this is what it needed. Also on the logbook it says 105 but on the bootlid it says 2.0 tdi.
Are they badged like that? Or maybe car has a story?

As far as I know, the 105 is a 1.9, and the 2.0 starts at 140 bhp, Skodas have less BHP iirc.

The logbook often states power in kw, not bhp, therefore 103kw is the 140bhp 2.0 TDI.
