    hi everyone ive come to a brick wall, so to speak.

    one of my rear courtesy light bulbs have gone so i have bought a replacement one but cant get the light off to change it... has anyone any ideas on how i can replace the bulb?

    hopefully someone can help me out

    They usually just pry out. You didn't say what model / year of Golf you have?

    Never had to remove the rear interior lights on a Bora, but they are probably the same lamps as used on the passat. They mount into a metal frame on the headcloth and should just pry out with a thin plain screwdriver.

    If its the same as mine, (99 Golf gttdi), i took mine out today to do exactly the same. As you look at the light get a flat blade screw driver and prise at the end of the light (short side) on the right hand side, there is a metal spring clip holding it in, push that down with the screw driver then it should easily prise out.

    well had a go at it and ended up breaking the connection :'( lol
