    hi..can anyone tell me the best gearbox oil for my 2007 1.9 tdi passat..getting crunching going into 2nd gear..

    the oil should be type OA4. or GO52 A2 SAE 75W and it holds 2 lts according to autodata hope this helps mate

    5 speed gearboxes hold 1.9 l and cannot be topped up. The oil must be drained and refilled. VW recommend refilling with 1.7 l if the box has been drained as 0.2 litres is assumed to stick inside. A completely rebuilt gearbox should be filled from dry with 1.9l.
