voice Control in the new Mk6 Golf Match UK spec

I have been trying to find out if the new 2010 Golf Match has voice control but could not find any information on the threads.
I have now just took delivery of my Golf and can report that the Match now has full bluetooth compatability with the iphone and also has voice control. The car is great, lots of smiles per mile.

Hi, Panther02.

I don't know whether you are still lurking in the forums but if you are, I am intrigued about the iPhone and voice activation. I also have the the new Match but I can't figure out how to get voice activation on my iPhone (iPhone 4) to work.

The manual suggests that you can briefly press the button on the roof (it looks like a star) and this will activate voice recognition. But nothing happens. Pressing the microphone button on the MFSW simply mutes the sound.

The only way I can get voice activation to start is by pressing the home button for a couple of secs on the iPhone itself. But this defeats the object, especially if the phone is tucked away in my pocket.

Hi Darren.

Mine worked first time, I followed an instruction on utube for iphone voice control in the golf. The only thing I can think of is that my Match came with the Sat nav system fitted (which uses voice control anyway) and I'm using the iphone 3G.

Try searching on utube.

For some reaon I can't get mine working. I have the RCD510 but that shouldn't make any difference.

I have a feeling that my MFSW hasn't been programmed correctly.

I have never used the buttons on the roof lining, i used the star button on the RDS510 or the one on the steering wheel, After reading your thread I tried it and it does nothing for me.

I too have the RCD 510 and can confirm that voice activation does not work for me either. There's another guy from another forum who has VA, but has an RNS510. Maybe it's only for RNS510. Wondering if it can be activated using VAGCOM.
