Cant cure air leak sound, help......GTTDi 150

Hello all,

Can anybody help.......ever since having my Golf there has always been a slight sound like leaking air...I have had to change turbo for usual problem, sound still there, recently blew bottom intercooler hose, and have changed both bottom hoses and clips and have changed bottom turbo hose (red), sound gradually getting worse now!

Running out of ideas now, took off all hoses from air box, checked cleaned and refitted, still there......

Last couple of days the noise has worsened, rush of air when accelerating, sounds when not accelerating, but now idle has become higher sometimes around 1000 rpm, dropping back to normal 900rpm occasionally.

Anyone any clues, have I missed something basic, or Am I in for more expense, car still pulls fine, very good economy etc..could this be the dreaded CAT?, or the intercooler?

Check intercooler for a hole you'll have to pressurise it slightly I've used a bike innertube in the past, just chop it and use two jubilee clips and pump it up.
