VCDS Cable & advice please

Hi

I am looking for a cable that will work with my 2002 audi A6 avant 1.9 tdi. I hear that some on e-bay etc are not so good, so can anyone direct me to a reputable reasonably priced source of decent cables.

I am also looking to download the shareware version from Ross-tech site. Will the cable recommended here (hopefully) require VCDS release 10.6 or VCDS lite (are they both shareware?). I am desperately trying to track down a fault with my air conditioning (please look at my post if you have the time) without any success.

I bought a cable off ebat that stated 'reads & clears fault codes'. It does not clear faults

Let me know if you managed to clear faults with this cable?
