    Hi,

Below are some pics of me trying to fit a tow bar to my company car - now before you all switch off, plz read it - you might know the answer, it isn't particularly to do with the towbar it to do with the funny bolts...

I guess i have to remove these spars that go into the car body - the insructions say remove the bumper beam - I did that and these are left but the side bars are too bit to fit inside them..so I guess i have to remove them...but THESE VVVVVVV are holing them on - two on each side...

So what the hell are them bolts - they aint torx - I already had to buy them to release 100 and 1 bolts holding bumper etc in place.

Where can I get a tool to finish the job?

    Any help is greatfully received.

1 last question - the rubber exhaust mounts - is there a trick to freeing them off? I followed the guidance on here and simpley undid the bolts holding the on for the rear most mount, but the one on the back of the silencer is mounted differently...

    cheers!

They look scary but believe it or not a standard hex (allen key) will fit.

    Just be gentle.

    Hi,

Any idea what size? I got the standard sizes already, but I am trying not to spend toooooo much cash (that was the plan with fitting it myself...) and already blew cash on torx etc and new socket set... don't fancy buying 5 BIG allen key sockets unless no one knows?

    Cheers!

You could always use a bolt with a couple locknuts on it instead.

    look like 10mm or 12mm torx's...

if you have a decent screw driver or socket set... get your self down to a cheap hardware store and get some torx's.. if these are just body panel torx's not much pressure will be needed... you can get a cheap and cheerful torx set for about a tenner..

if you need to use a lot of pressure... get a CHEAP torx set from a market... ie £2.99.. confirm the size and get upto the likes of Halford for some of theres... They do life time warrenty on some tools.. not sure about torx's
