My first car (that I bought myself) was a Mini. Yes, I got the Mini bug, and throughout my teens I just wanted the best and fastest Mini I could get. So 1.3 engine transplants and what not, I did them all.

But I grew out of the Mini thing in my twenties, and fell in love with all Jaguars. E-Types especially. But I also liked the MkIIs. I did most of the restoration work for a friend's E-Type back in the 80s, when parts were readily available. It'd be so much more difficult now. I'd need about £20k to get a good one now.

When I went to the Motorshow at the NEC in 1984, as soon as I clapped eyes on the MR2, I wanted one. I also quite fancied an original CRX.

Two very unique cars in their time. Never ended up getting an MR2 but have tinkered with a couple of rex's in my time. Lots of fun!
