I think I remember someone spraying a disinfectant and anti fungus spray into the air con air inlet, they had taken their pollen filter out, switched off the air recycling and switched on the air con. They sprayed the cleaner into the opening. I think this would work better than the normal aircon cleaning cans that you spray into the cabin with the aircon on. This never worked for me and Audi couldn't fix my smell aircon..... muppets

thanks everyone for hints and tips, but i bought this can of wurth coolius but the destructions on the can are wurth-less hohoho, sorry. it has on the can a picture of what looks like a heater matrix, with picture of 'germs' on the matrix? think i'll try new filter and spray into inlet, but also says do not have heating or aircon running, i dunno germans, quality and complicated all rolled into one

Pop open the bonnet,at the back of the engine bay there is a plastic panel covering the battery just in front of the wipers peel off the rubber strip that goes across to each wing, lift out the panel and on the righthand side you'll see the pollen filter, undo the clips and lift out the cover and filter, switch air con to lo to get the fan blowing through the vents, then spray the aerosol in the pollen filter housing, repeat a few times. If you wanna be a real cheapskate you can clean and disinfect the old pollen filter ,make sure you dry it first before reuse.

what are you guys spraying into the pollen filter housing?!

as mentioned in another post i used the stuff you set off inside the car with the aircon on full whack and let it do its stuff - which it did for a few hours and now I have a smelly car again!

I want to try this one where you spray something into the housing. but what do I spray in there?!
