I would have thought so, its only an extra switch? and I expect a feature to be enabled in the ECU programing.

The only problem is I'd expect Audi would charge a preimum price to do it

I was told by my local audi dealer that you cant get hill hold retro fitted, you needed to buy it in your initial order which I wished I had now as it was only around 50 quid last August

Yep, when I was purchasing my car the Hill Hold option was £45.00 lol, thats why I thought it was just a switch and a bit of extra code in the ECU. I'm having the same issue with trying to get DAB retro fitted to my B&O in the car, but Audi don't want to know To be honist I don't think they like changing the spec on a car incase something goes wrong, so there simple answer is, "It can't be done sir" but in your case one would assume it would be an easy thing to add?

Try talking to Craig at tclsatnav - he does many retrofits (often on behalf of dealers) and may be able to help.

I have the Hill Holder and while I like it, there are a couple of niggles.

I have noticed a metallic clonk/clink after moving off and (presumable) the system resets for the next stop. I can even lightly feel it through the pedals. Anyone else have this?

Also when about to move off but the traffic suddenly changes it’s mind, I sometimes find I have cancelled the brake as I have brought the clutch up. So I haven’t actually moved off, but find that I roll back momentarily before I realise the brake cancelled and isn’t on any more.

It does seem to work well apart from those issues though.

Have you noticed if your ‘Auto’ system makes a slight clunk a few seconds after driving off

I can't say it's as obvious as a clunk, but when it's applied on coming to a stop, it seems very abrubt and sudden, then when pulling away, it seems to disengage roughly. That said, maybe a clunk is the best way to describe it...!!!!!

The noise and sensation I am thinking of, happens a few seconds ‘after’ pulling away. I think it is the system reset, as if you move forward at very low speed the system doesn’t auto re-engage until a certain speed has been achieved. I think it is this threshold that reactivates the system and I can feel and hear it happen. Will take it in to dealers next month when I have time if nobody else has this happen on their cars.

Perhaps my shoes have thinner soles than the shoes worn by an average man?
