Pleeeese help asap

Driving home today just got on the motorway and went to overtake and i had power but not much of it atall
Slowed down but basically had no power between 2k/3k it was revving but not picking up speed,
Any ideas? And is it ok to drive?

a revving engine, but no increase in speed is usually a sign of a failing clutch. i would get someone to test drive it for you to confirm though. you will also probably need a new dmf. (dual mass flywheel ). best not to drive it really, as then you will definately need the dmf, and it wont get better, only worse. expect a bill approaching a grand if i am correct in my online diagnosis, from your description of events.

Thanks for that but i actually let the car heat up on the drive and took it out the same night and it was fine.. very weird!

Dropping through the gears from 3rd to 2nd sometimes it makes a really horrible noise, its not the clutch like sometimes you grind it but more a metal on metal squeak and it can do it quite loud too, is it me or can I do something to stop it?
