Ticking noise on Mk5 GT TDI

before you change anything eles take a look at your alternator. see if thats turning proply. or is the belt flapping.

Well since making that post i must have changed my mind at least 3 times trademark2k6 - i'm angling for friday off so i can visit the garage and remove the aux belt and get my head in there!

Basically mine was ticking, kinda squeeky. Looked at my alternator from poping the bonet, and my alternator didnt look right, the way the belt was moving wasnt right.
Got it changed, easy job. and done, noise is gone.

I have arranged the time off on Friday and spoken to the garage - there are two cars to clear and mine can go one, and trust me i'll speed the progress fo those up as IIRC they are only small services...
