    Hi,

I have a 2002 Audi A4, on which the min oil lvele warning light keeps coming on. I have had the oil level sensor replaced three times by the Audi dealer and also had a new instrument panel fitted which solved the problem for awhile but now its started happenig again.

If you check the oil the ligh goes out but comes on again exactly after 50 miles every time. Can anyone help as the dealers do not seem to be able too?

Did they check the oil pump pick up ? It has a fine mesh that clogs if poor grade oil is used troughout the maintenance or the oil changes are not too freqwent...Use the best synthethic oil you can afford and new filters as it saves time and money in the long run.

Mick there a pain in the ****.There are three wire live from ignition, earth and a signal wire from the dash. The convienence control unit takes a signal from the bonnet switch and tells the dash that it has been opened for maintainance(oil change/service).I have just sorted this complaint on a4 and i found the fault code always refered to short to posotive at the sender signal.I rewired this and it was still there.I replaced the dash as you do for the test plan and used a known sender as a replacement.Still there disconnected the dash and sender ran engine for 10 mins reconnected cycled the ignition bingo fixed.I have had success also by carring out another method.Sat in car engine running, turn off and turn ignition on open bonnet open door, close bonnet close door remove key wait 60 secs start up light off.Dont be to hard on your audi lads as there a pain
