Sorry, I am new to this but I have a silly question. Can anyone advise me how to get access to the headlights and front indicator in order to change the bulbs? My car is a 1990 Audi 80 Quattro .Cheers

i would recommend posting this in the audi 80/90/100 section and you might get a better response. this section is for non-VAG cars

From what I remember the front bulb is just held in a screw fixing to the back for the headlight and the indicator lens has to be removed to get to the indicator bulb
You may think I'm being helpful yet sarcastic, this is only because I feel I need to help you to help yourself in the future

You are not being sarcastic. However, there does not appear to be an obvious way of accessing the bulbs from the rear as there are bits of equipment bolted to the back of them. I also need to gain access to the front indicator bulbs. Cheers.

The 80 Saloon lights should not cause problems changing bulbs. The Lh H/L bulb lhs is accessed by rotating a plastic cover until it releases showing the back of bulb connector. The RHS may have a plastic cover to raise before you can get to the round plastic cover. I think you should be able to locate the indicator bulb connector to twist it out and replace bulb. The H/L can be removed complete with indicator lamp by removing lower lamp trim, screw on one side push on clip other side. two screws at bottom and two at top

Michael, many thanks. I have managed to get to the head and side light bulbs. The n/s was easier being only a cover but the o/s required the removal of what looked like an air vent for the injection system. I can see both the indicator bulbs but they appear impossible to get at. The n/s seems to require the removal of the washer bottle and hydraulic fluid reservoir. The o/s is behind what appears to be equipment related to the fuel injection system. Can the lenses be removed from the outside?
My car is a left-hand drive 80 Quattro so might be a bit different from the UK spec car.

The indicator lens does not remove easily, if all else fails it would probably be easier to remove headlamp/indicator lamp

Is the headlight/indicator lense easy to remove? I was thinking about that earlier but I was not sure where all the pertinent screws are. Cheers.

Two Phillips screws on top of lamp and two behind the removable trim under lamp. Mark position of top screws so it goes back the same.
Biggest problem will be replacing the two lower screws. They keep dropping unless you have magnet screwdriver
